Bell’s began in the heart of New York City in 2012 with floral arrangements and landscape design services, our gardens have now been growing upstate in Saranac Lake since 2020.

Owner Emily-Bell combines expertise in fine arts, horticulture, and environmental science to deliver one-of-a-kind designs that reflect a love of nature and the joy of flowers. A NYC native, before pursuing floral design Emily-Bell studied the visual arts, political science, and biology at the City University of New York. She worked for Brooklyn/Queens based environmental organizations supporting community gardens, costal habitats, environmental education, and urban composting. Receiving her Masters degree from the University of Oregon, she studied native plant ecology and went to work in habitat restoration on the Oregon Coast. Emily-Bell and her husband moved to the Adirondacks to make their forever home in early 2020. In her free time Emily-Bell can be found botanizing, cooking, gardening, dog walking, and hanging out with her very cool baby.

Serving weddings and events of all sizes, plus holidays, everyday celebrations, and hands-on classes, Emily-Bell works hard to ensure that her business carries out environmentally friendly best practices. How? By taking the extra time and effort to source seasonal, locally grown flowers from our own gardens and area farms (as much as Adirondack weather permits). She composts every stem, every step of the way. Avoids harsh chemicals, paints, and fertilizers. And never, ever uses floral foam.
